Hon. Njingum Musa has called on the population to preserve peace, remain united and resist political manipulation as Cameroon prepares for the upcoming municipal and parliamentary elections.
He made the appeal on Sunday, October 25, during the finals of the Hon. Njingum Musa Inter Veterans Cup at the Ndop Municipal Stadium, where football brought together players, supporters, community leaders and other residents.
Addressing the crowd at the closing ceremony, Hon. Musa urged the population not to allow political interests to divide communities, stressing the need for mutual respect and peaceful coexistence as the country approaches another electoral period.
His message came at a time when political activities are expected to gather momentum ahead of the elections. He encouraged citizens to remain vigilant and avoid being drawn into actions that could threaten the peace and unity of their communities.
The tournament, which brought veterans together on the football field, also provided an opportunity for community engagement beyond the competition itself. Through the event, participants and spectators shared in the spirit of sportsmanship, while the closing ceremony offered a platform for the call for peace.
Hon. Musa's appeal placed particular emphasis on the responsibility of citizens to protect their communities from unnecessary tension and political divisions. He urged the population to keep their attention on issues that matter to their collective wellbeing and development.
The Hon. Njingum Musa Inter Veterans Cup has brought together football enthusiasts in Ndop, using the game as a means of promoting interaction and strengthening community ties.
As the competition drew to a close, the message was clear: the spirit of unity displayed on the football field should extend beyond the stadium, particularly as political activities intensify in the coming months.
