Tantoh Edison Fru Ndi, Chief Executive Officer of Dreamland Connect PLC, has reaffirmed his commitment to business, declaring that he has no political ambitions and intends to continue along the path of entrepreneurship.
“I am not a politician, I don’t have political ambitions,” Fru Ndi said on Saturday, October 18, during the unveiling of the 15th edition of BLISS Magazine in Bamenda.
“Roads have lanes; I have chosen my own, which is business,” he added, using the analogy to explain his decision to concentrate on enterprise rather than pursue a political career. He nevertheless acknowledged the close relationship between business and politics, describing the two as “bedfellows.”
Fru Ndi, who also serves as the North West Regional Delegate of the Chamber of Commerce, was the central personality of the magazine’s latest edition. The 120-page publication documents his life, education, career decisions and rise in the business world.
Titled From Dust to Dynasty: The Man, The Impact, The Legacy, the special edition traces Fru Ndi’s journey from his early years to his emergence as an entrepreneur and business leader.
Part of his childhood was spent under the care of his grandfather, a Baptist pastor. His formative years took him through several towns, including Bamunka, Bangolan, Limbe, Belo, Bamenda and Douala, as his education continued in different environments. He eventually completed his secondary education at Government High School Limbe.
A scholarship to the University of Regina in Canada later exposed him to new ideas, technology and business opportunities. The experience contributed to the development of his entrepreneurial interests and helped shape the direction of his professional life.
According to the account presented in BLISS Magazine, Fru Ndi subsequently became the first MTN distributor in the region. One of the defining decisions of his career was his departure from government teaching to concentrate fully on business.
It was a significant change in direction, requiring him to commit his time and resources to building enterprises rather than maintaining the security of a government job.
The magazine’s profile places particular emphasis on the decisions and habits that have shaped Fru Ndi’s business journey.
Rather than using his early earnings primarily for personal luxury, he reportedly reinvested resources into his businesses to support their growth. The approach reflects a focus on building for the long term, with patience and discipline playing important roles in his progress.
Three principles stand out in the publication’s account of his professional life: integrity, excellence and discipline. These are presented as values that guide his business decisions, working relationships and approach to leadership.
The profile offers readers a look beyond business achievements to the choices, experiences and personal principles that helped shape them.
The unveiling of the 15th edition marks a significant step for BLISS Magazine, with the 120-page publication presented as a collector’s edition devoted to one individual’s life and professional journey.
The edition seeks to document Fru Ndi’s experiences for readers interested in entrepreneurship, leadership and the process of building a business career. For young people considering entrepreneurship, his account raises practical questions about career choices, reinvestment, perseverance and the importance of remaining committed to a chosen path.
Fru Ndi’s declaration in Bamenda was direct: he has chosen business over politics. His remarks, delivered at an event celebrating his professional journey, placed that decision at the centre of the occasion.
As BLISS Magazine records his story in print, the publication also preserves an account of the experiences and decisions that have helped define his place in the business community of Cameroon’s North West Region.
