The correction register

A record is only worth trusting if it admits when it was wrong. When an editor confirms a reader’s report, the correction is published here and stamped on the story it fixes. Reports we decline stay private; they are not part of the record.

No corrections have been published yet.

That is not a claim of perfection — it means no reader report has been confirmed yet. Spotted an error on a story? Use the correction form on that page and an editor will review it.

How verification works — Spotted an error? Every article carries a correction form — telling us makes the record better. Every correction we accept is published in the correction register.
